In partnership with the Junior Center of Art and Science (JCAS), we are transforming kids into REAL children's picture book authors!

DATES: April 5th - 9th, 2021

AGE RANGE: For kids ages 8-11

HOW IT WORKS: Each Story Matters and JCAS will be hosting virtual workshops where kids have the chance to learn from artists and storytellers about how they create worlds, design characters, use color, and write the words to tell their stories. Some of our workshop leaders will include artists from Pixar Animation Studios!

KIDS BECOMING PUBLISHED AUTHORS: We will create one story as a group and have the book professionally illustrated and edited. All kids will become published authors via this workshop, and the book they’ve created will be sold online and in stores.

SIGN UP A CHILD: There are limited seats available and they are first come first serve. If you have or know a child who may enjoy this program please sign up via the next available programs below.

INTERESTED SCHOOLS AND ORGANIZATIONS: Would you like to learn more about our program and future workshops? Please click the corresponding button below for additional information.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We will have professional artists from all over the world join us. Pixar artists will join our sessions based on personal and professional availability during the week of April 5-9th.

What is EACH STORY MATTERS 501(C)3?

Each Story Matters is a California-based nonprofit helping kids build a stronger connection with literacy, art, and design via immersive hands-on workshops.

Our flagship program “Kids Make a Picture Book” takes kids ages 8-11 through the process of creating a real children’s picture book. As a group, we create one story across 10 (one-hour) virtual or in-person sessions. When the story is finished we pair it with a professional illustrator and editor to create a market-grade children’s picture book which is published and sold wherever books are sold. On the day the book is published we have an unboxing ceremony, book signing (if in-person), storytime reading, and Q&A with the kids.

The bulk of the book sale profits go back to the partnering school or organization for help with funding essential supplies, supplement teacher salaries, field trips, building maintenance, special events, and more.

This program is available for bookings worldwide starting April 1st, 2021. Click below if you’d like to bring this workshop to your school/organization.
