Nice to Meet You

Jesse Byrd is an award-winning publisher and author who launched Jesse B. Creative as a creative agency centered around developing children’s books that allow young people across the spectrum of diversity to see themselves in stories.

As a part of his publishing work, Jesse runs a story-making workshop that guides youth through the process of developing the narrative of their dreams and having it published.

His debut novel and picture books have won awards and acclaim at competitions worldwide.

He’s served as the Creative Director and CEO of U Wish, a multimedia studio owned by former NBA all-star, Baron Davis, that focuses on diverse multimedia content for young people ages 0-12. Their hallmark characters are Black Santa and CeCe.

He is also a foundation board member at National Public Radio (NPR).

Prior to starting his own venture, Jesse worked in various roles in leadership, copywriting, and marketing at organizations including Google and Ernst & Young. He is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and a dual native of New Orleans Louisiana and Oakland, California, currently living in Los Angeles.
